I personally think the purple hair was a welcome surprise, giving the guys at Shaft new opportunities for her wardrobe and how the studio’s distinct aesthetic can highlight her presence in a scene. For all the times KonoSuba fans have teased her as a useless goddess, Aqua is genuinely one of the most recognizable and likable female deuteragonists in the past decade of anime. Someone who deserves all the good things in life after going through several traumatic events at such a young age and refusing to be a bitter, resentful individual.
